This state-of-the-art Driller reduces drilling cost per foot, increases rate of penetration, provides longer bit life and helps drill a straighter hole. The system works by controlling weight of a drill bit during the drilling operation by mechanical manipulation of the drawwork's break handle. Operation is based on the relationship of deadline tension and weight on the drill bit. The system uses hydraulic pressure generated by the deadline anchor weight sensor. As deadline tension increases above the pre-selected level on the system controller, Satellite (R) pays out drill line by raising the drawwork's break lever. This allows the drum to turn. By lowering the break handle, the drum stops when a pre-selected weight value is reached.
